in a few short hours i will be departing for joisey with kait and zac for the weekend, where we will partake of the boozings, go shoppins, and totally hang the fuck out with deltashade. this comes with the added bonus of NOT HAVING TO DEAL WITH MY FAMILY woo hoo. i am excite.

the late present i ordered for nick with my christmas money came today 8D i got him the totally shitty but hirarious MGS novelizations. he knows how shitty they are but he wanted them for his collection and i like giving gifts so :3 and last night i bought myself a really nice cookbook with slow cooker recipes! it is so pretty and shiny and full of color photographs 8) I AM HAPPY.

DAY 3: A GAME THAT IS UNDERRATED

OF COURSE

come on guys i fucking love these games. they aren't the BEST FUCKING GAMES ever, or anything, but i am so in love with them, and they are kind of underrated. they got passed over by a lot of the RPG community because everyone saw "card based RPG" and was like EW FUCK THAT. but they are so good ;; really interesting setting with awesome battle mechanics, and THE PRETTIEST WORLDS EVER FUCK. also the most complicated costumes ever seen in a JRPG.

i understand that there's a lot not to love here, even for JRPG fans. the english voice acting in the first one is pretty bad in places, because the entire english language localization was done inside of japan. origins had SIGNIFICANTLY improved voice acting. some of the characters are admittedly not the most developed, but overall the series has a LOT of lovable characters, main and minor. and some hecka awesome plot twists in both games, especially in origins. the setting/world is really beautiful and fairly well thought out, and with some really well-executed concepts.

the card-based battle system actually makes sense in the context of the game, which i've yet to see in any other card-based RPG. the cards they use in-universe are actually a core part of the setting. these are the prettiest games i've ever seen on the gamecube, and the stories are totally awesome and they really get you to feel for the characters. and there are some serious faceheel turns and big reveals that are just. AWESOME. i think origins' story did this a lot better, with the baelheit and verus stuff, and had this big awesome B plot that was basically a giant deconstruction of All Myths Are True. anyway i could go on FOREVER about these games, you all should know that. if any of you have a gamecube or wii and haven't played them FFFFUUUUUUU JUST DO IT THEY ARE SO GOOD. i mean origins has MILLY. ISN'T THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU.
