name: i frequently go by oliver although that is not my real name. my real name is madison. you can call me oliver, madi, loliver, i really don't care, IT IS UP TO YOU, i honestly do not have any preference between the numerous nicknames i have. people IRL call me both also, idc!

I THOUGHT YOU WERE A DUDE? I WAS! kinda. for a bit. LET ME BACK THAT SHIT UP. i am biologically 100% lady parts. however i suffered from gender dysphoria for a long time and a few years ago i came out as transgendered; i.e., male-identifying. i lived as a man for a couple of years until i realized that didn't make me any happier, so i now identify as two spirited; basically, BOTH! but i mostly present as female because it's easier, and let's face it, I LIKE DRESSING UP IN PRETTY THINGS. if this is all too complicated you can just think of me as a lady, i do not mind.

also do not be all fussed about pronouns! like my nicknames i don't have much of a preference. most of my IRL peeps use lady pronouns for me, probably because my boobs are hard to ignore. but a lot of my friends use male pronouns still, or switch between them or whatever, YOU CAN DO WHATEVER I DON'T CARE i will not be offended 8) i AM A BIT HARD TO OFFEND GENERALLY.

A BRIEF BACKGROUND OF OLIVERPERSON: i was born 22 years ago ish in rhode island, USA. i have two younger brothers who are mostly lovable potheads although the older of the two is kind of a giant douchenozzle. I LOVE THEM ANYWAY. i love my whole family even though everyone except my dad (mostly) is high strung and FUCKING CRAZY. seriously my parents get into screaming matches over whether the mechanic in town does body work or not (TRUE STORY, THIS HAPPENED THIS WEEK). anyway i grew up in rhode islandyville until i was around 18 and then i did my senior year in japan, WOO CULTURAL EXPERIENCE it was pretty fun. i did my first year of university there and then i transferred to the ~UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO~ in albuquerque, which is where i have mostly lived for the last few years. it is pretty nice and i like it although i am likely going to move away when i get my BAs. earlier this year, i got sick for several months and was diagnosed with CELIAC DISEASE! so i've been gluten free since june. a lot of my life currently revolves around figuring out non-boring ways to feed myself that won't kill me 8D although i tend to post WAY more about food on my facebook than i do here. gluten free cooking is a FUN TIMES ADVENTURE though derp derp

schoolins! i've been unemployed since i initially got sick although i'm trying to find a part time job, since i am ~focusing on school~. i'd like to actually graduate hurr hurrr and since i'm a double major and i was out last semester for illness, i've been kind of set back for a bit. my majors are linguistics and languages (focus in japanese and portuguese). i want to get my phd in linguistics and do work in sociolinguistics someday :D

OOH MANLY i have been dating this lovely boy nick for the last few months. we've actually been friends for a yearish but then we started dating in august :3 IT'S PRETTY AWESOME NGL, we play MGS and halo together and he's so sweet and it's AWESOME. good times.

also i finally finished setting up the new baten kaitos wiki i started like...forever ago derp. i've been using all my sick time to add actual content to it. sob why am i so far away from my gamecube, i want to play BK or BKO so bad ;___;

in other news: STILL SICK with the same whatever as my last post, but it's some shitty viral infection that no one could do anything about. i spent several days in bed all writhing and hurty to the point of tears until my mom was like OKAY JESUS HERE IS SOME CANNABIS SPRAY, NOTHING ELSE IS WORKING. (my mother has this shit because she uses medical marijuana for chronic pain.) i'm really not a marijuana person although i really don't care if anyone else uses it, and this stuff tastes like ASS (it's a tincture of marijuana and everclear aughhh) but it WORKS. i am currently on the mend although my throat is hideously swollen and i can't really talk anymore. derp. i am kind of miffed that being sick has taken a whole week away from my vacation visiting at home? plus i haven't gotten to gamestop to get the shiny raikou yet ;__; AND i had to cancel going to the realms event i registered for today fffuuuu. BUT I AM GETTING BETTER THANK GODDDD.

oh lawdy this is getting to be such a long post whoops WELL i'll just tie it up with another addition to the vidya game meme and resist the urge to go on forever about baten kaitos 8D

i know what you mean about the blurriness between canon and heavily accepted fanon :U i haven't been able to play in a while (herp derp six months is a LONG TIME for me to go without baten kaitosing), which is why i've only been laying out the skeletons for articles right now. when i go back and redo my playthroughs i plan on either taking notes for reference, like when NPCs mention an established fact or something because i've noticed that's where people tend to get fuzzy on what's canon and what's not, or just updating the wiki as i play GOD I AM SUCH A NERD

and man i don't...i don't even remember the fucking ba -- OH WAIT I DO. i always thought it was kalas? but i never really gave it much thought tbh. man i think the wiki needs a page just for shit like this lmfao.

Japanese and Portuguese, eh? And sociolinguistics? The only one of these things I do not have experience with is Portuguese. Do you get to deal with people who don't know what's what assuming it's the same thing as Spanish? What varieties of Portuguese do you work with?

woooo! i don't identify as a transman anymore, i am mostly all lady in presentation lately, but i think that's mostly because i stopped being so fussed about appearances :'D

i go to school in new mexico, so basically people generally know enough about spanish to know that there's a difference between it and portuguese. the portuguese department at my school is 100% brazilian, which bugs me a bit because my dad's family is from portugal and i'm really only interested in european portuguese. there isn't a SINGLE class on culture/comp, etc that doesn't focus on brazil and it drives me nuts 8| plus, since there are so many students from a spanish-speaking background of one kind or another, a lot of the lower level language classes are aimed at teaching from a spanish-speaking perspective, which puts students like me, with zero spanish background (i'm from the east coast, in an area that is more heavily populated by portuguese and italian ethnic groups) at a disadvantage :C this is a personal pet peeve and personally i don't enjoy my upper level portuguese classes very much, but i only have a few left to do for my major and then i can go on to do what i want with it anyway B|
